As mentioned above, the first fertility consultation is free of charge and lasts approximately one hour. The doctor will review your medical history, family and reproductive history, past and current illnesses, as well as any documentation you provide if you have undergone previous assisted reproduction studies or treatments. They will ask you relevant questions. They will try to find out if your cycles are normal or, on the contrary, if you have irregular cycles, if you have undergone any surgery, past illnesses or if you have symptoms of any disease such as endometriosis, etc.

This initial consultation also includes a complete gynaecological examination of the woman, which will involve a transvaginal ultrasound scan to check for any anatomical abnormalities (uterus, fallopian tubes, etc.) and also to assess ovarian reserve.
